Customer Reviews

Without a doubt, this is the place for steak done right! Live pianist, great music. Food and staff are top notch! Like other reviews, although the food is cooked to perfection, the dish may not match the menu description. I had a wonderful stuffed with shrimp and scallops salmon but there were no shrimp or scallops. Go figure! Regardless we had a fabulous dinner. My wife's steak and mushrooms were out of this world perfect!

One of the best cooked steaks I've had in a very long time. Salmon was pretty good as well, lots of different menu options if not everyone in your party wants steak. We noticed that the staff all seemed to help each other out and we never had to wait long for requests/attention, which was nice as it was very busy and crowded when we went (reservations recommended). We will likely be back due to the great food and service!

Excellent steaks and seafood in an eclectic atmosphere. The southern fried deviled eggs are a unique spin on a southern classic. The red snapper with risotto was perfectly cooked. The dry aged ribeye is expensive but delicious. We enjoyed the warm loaf of bread served before the meal.

All around excellent. Our server wasn't a speedy one as the others. The steaks were perfectly cooked to temperature. Excellent cut of meat. The complimentary bread loaf was fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is perfect for this location. We will be back when we pass through again.

Do not let looks deceive you! This little gem is magnificent! We were told to visit here and have the most amazing steak we ever had. When we pulled up, we were not too sure as the building looked very rustic and kind of old. The signage out front didn't seem very updated so we were like thinking this place was a little sketchy, but we were incredibly wrong. It's absolutely rustic, very cozy, comfortable and inviting and the service was outstanding. We sat down and ordered some very tasty craft cocktails, and an appetizer which was very delicious and then we partook in a wonderful steak dinner. My son had lobster. We celebrated his birthday and had the most fabulous dinner ever. Everything was incredible! Steaks were perfectly cooked, lobster succulent, salad ice cold, green beans seasoned fabulously. The desserts were OMG yummy! Carrot cake was moist and cream cheese was perfectly creamy and not sweet. Creme brulee was superior! Creamy custard and top perfect. This restaurant is owned by a Veteran and he pays homage to America and her Vets. Thank you sir for your service and incredible establishment. Kid friendly, ample parking, can handle bigger parties.

We stumbled upon The Local on our way home to NC from FL last year, and planned our return trip this year around a second visit! We love this place - great service, great food and drink, and veteran-owned. Haley, our bartender, is awesome. Super personable and helpful. The aged steaks are delicious - I could almost cut with my fork. Green beans are amazing. I highly recommend this place if you're local or just passing through.
